Data Platform Engineer

Overview
We're hiring a Data Platform Engineer to architect and operate the data infrastructure that underpins our AI consulting engagements. Based in Zurich, you'll build the pipelines, lakes, and governance frameworks that enable our teams and clients to work with data at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain scalable data pipelines using Spark, Airflow, or dbt
- Build and manage cloud data platforms on AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Implement data quality, lineage, and governance frameworks
- Partner with ML engineers to ensure training and inference data is reliable and accessible
- Evaluate and adopt emerging data technologies to keep the platform best-in-class
Requirements
Essential
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or platform engineering
- Expert-level SQL and proficiency in Python or Scala
- Hands-on experience with modern data stack tools (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, or similar)
- Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT patterns, and data warehousing
- Fluent in English; German is a plus
Preferred
- Experience with real-time streaming (Kafka, Flink, or Pub/Sub)
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations (GDPR, FADP)
- Infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Background in financial services, pharma, or international organizations
